Chic is back at La Banane once again for the hotel’s second White Party, St Barth’s most exclusive jamboree and a high spot of the summer season, organized by owners Benjamin Fabbri and Jean-Marc Israel. An amazing cocktail of elegance, exoticism and merrymaking that Chic couldn’t wait to share with you… All dressed up in white, the 150 guests discovered a dream decor where it wasn’t long before airy-light dresses twirled the night away to the throbbing rhythm of intoxicating music.
Magical lighting, tempting gourmet buffets and colorful cocktails with exotic flavors, everything conspired to make the star-studded glamour of this unforgettable night part of the La Banane legend.

Why organize a White Party at your hotel in St Barth? Where did you get the idea?
B.F.: As a child in Saint-Tropez, I spent my youth immersed in the magic of Saint-Tropez’s nighttime festivities including its famous White Party. When we settled in St Barth, it seemed obvious to organize an event that was similar to that legendary party but with our own touch.
J.M.I.: In fact, this is our third White Party. We began with a small gathering of 30 friends; then at the second there were 60 and finally this year 150. The white theme came to us quite naturally. White is a great unifier.

How do you set about the delicate task of selecting your guests?
J.M.I.: A party’s success first depends on the selection of the guests.
Quite naturally, they are our closest friends present on the island, as well as their friends, because people usually spend their summer vacation in a crowd and rarely in a couple!
B.F.: Our White Party is a private event, of course, but our clients at the hotel are also our guests and we let them know in advance so that they are informed about the evening’s dress code. Some even reserve from one year to the next to make sure they are going to be there!

What are your ingredients for a really great party at La Banane?
B.F.: A magical setting, good friends, great music, very good cocktails and… wonderful weather, which this year was not a foregone conclusion!

You have a great sense of fun! All the cocktail parties to the music of Soley on guitar, the unforgettable private party with Apl.de.ap from the Black Eyed Peas at the turntables… What do you have in store for everyone this new season?
B.F.: Our events are usually improvised depending on the mood of the moment and who we meet. Naturally, Soley is there on Thursdays for our traditional drinks. As for the rest, we will have to see, the season is only just beginning…
J.M.I.: Our fourth White Party!
